BEGONE THOUGHT!

Lol this piece was STRESSFUL, but a lot of fun. It’s really the first time I’ve used stencils (excluding the test runs) and I am by no means a painter.

 

But, it came out pretty cool looking if I do say so myself. 

 

The quote is actually part of a bigger quote that the character Malcom did say in the Jurassic Park book. And I thought the idea of cutting out the letters from magazines would add a bit more texture, layering and emphasize the fact that people don’t read as many magazines as they used to. 

 

I feel that, now more than ever since we’re currently living in the “misinformation/fake news” age, this quote is so impactful. It’s a really good, deep quote and there are so many that come from Malcom and other characters in the Jurassic Park book that don’t even make into the film. It’s really a shame, but typical of movies based off of anything. 

 

I made Jeff Goldblum’s shirt all splattery because, 1. he’s quotes as saying his favorite color is the rainbow, so of course I’m gonna give the man some colors.

 

And 2. because he’s a sexy, stylish man (always has been lol but I’m biased I guess 😜), and he’s always got on some sort of colorful, nifty patterned shirt. So I thought this technique would be kinda fitting for him.

 

Again, I’m not a painter! So if Jeff sees this at any point, my apologies. The real thing is always better than the cheap knockoff lol.
